From a Go-Kart Motor to the Sky

How Crown Paramotor Took Flight With Nothing But a Dream

I didn’t start with a factory engine, a team of engineers, or instructions...I started with a Predator 212 go-kart motor, a pile of tubing, and a dream to fly.

No instructor, no lessons, just years of engineering experience. I followed a belief that my first flight should be simple, intuitive—and built with my own two hands. I would not listen to all the people doubting me and I would chase a dream.

The first frame was handcrafted... a set of parallel bars bent from the same chalk line on the floor. Hours spent in the shop making sure every weld was perfect, all hand deburred and ground down to lower the chance of stress concentrators. The engine completely built from scratch to a stage III configuration, all billet components allowing higher compression therefore tripling the horsepower. Redundant safeties will be built into the unit from top to bottom. I machined my own prop adapter... seven of them actually... to ensure the perfect gear ratio. Utilizing additive manufacturing, I printed a throttle from my own unique fighter jet styled design taking hours of CAD work. To finish, I wrapped the cage in a soccer net to guarantee rugged prop protection.

It was incredibly tedious... the long hours wore me down, but I knew every inch of it. Every bolt. Every weld. It wasn’t just a paramotor—it was mine.

And Then… I Flew It.

The first successful flight wasn’t pretty. But it was real. The wing climbed, the engine roared, and for a few glorious minutes, the sky stopped being a dream, it became a place I belonged.

Not because someone sold me a way in, but because I built my way in. I felt like I joined the ranks of a Wright brother... truly an honor.

For a brief moment as the high reached a physical and metaphorical peak, I looked down to a land that I left behind that was full of those filled with doubt. I had nothing but success and the breathtaking Arizona sunset to look at now...a memory that will forever stick with me. I was now one with nature, the birds, the cactus, the horizon. That moment defined my future.

Why It Matters

Crown Paramotor was born from that spirit, from the idea that flight should be accessible, rugged, intuitive, confidently safe. That you don’t need to wait for permission or buy your way into the sky. You just need grit, vision, and the will to learn.

We chase logic and simplicity. Performance you can trust—because you will understand every component of how your equipment works.

Today, I Build for Pilots Like Me

Pilots who want gear that disappears and goes unnoticed in flight...pilots who don’t just want to fly—they want to know why things fly. Pilots who don’t cut corners—but might bend some tubing in their garage at 2 a.m.

That experience changed my life...Now, I will build machines that might just change yours.

Welcome to Crown Paramotor...Let’s build something that flies!
